Affiliate Executive Director
The Affiliate Executive Director reports to the local Board of Directors and provides overall leadership for the local affiliate. Major responsibilities include management of the program with emphasis on fundraising, administration and board relations; development, oversight and maintenance of the budget; approval and oversight of expenses and income; facilitate Board and Board committee meetings; oversee Program Director and ensure staffing needs are met.
Applicants must possess a Bachelors degree in Administration, Management or related field and must have a minimum of 5 years nonprofit, fundraising, board development, or management experience. Must also possess a proven ability to raise support for a program, communicate effectively, work with diverse groups of people, and manage staff and volunteers. State licensing requirements may call for additional qualifications.
Affiliate Program Director
The Affiliate Program Director is responsible for supervision of the overall programmatic operations of an affiliate, works with the Program Committee of the Board of Directors, and reports to the Executive Director. Major responsibilities include: provide the Executive Director, Program Committee and Board with materials necessary to carry out their supervision, governance, and planning responsibilities regarding local licensing standards, practice and policies; recruit and orient committee members, run meetings and keep minutes for meetings; develop and monitor annual budget for home and program activities; oversee maintenance, appearance and safety of home, vehicles, furnishings and property. Also recruit, supervise, train direct care staff; identify, screen and select children for program; facilitate communication with parents and/or guardians of children; maintain staff and scholar files.
Applicants must be at least 21 years of age, possess a Masters degree in Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice, Guidance and Counseling, Human Services Administration, Sociology, Education or a related human services field and 2 years experience, or have a Bachelors degree in one of the above fields with at least 2 years supervisory experience in child welfare or youth development. Must also have knowledge of residential care practice and licensing regulations and be computer proficient. Occasional travel to attend meetings is required.
Residential Counselor I
The Residential Counselor I is responsible for the operations of the home and creating a family-like atmosphere that supports the development of the full child. This position may require living in the home. Major responsibilities include: daily decisions regarding health, safety, and discipline of scholars in residence; physical, emotional, social, spiritual and academic development of scholars in residence; tutoring as needed; perform necessary tasks to run a home for scholars in residence (cooking, cleaning, shopping, driving); complete required documentation of scholar activities and understand all aspects of household budget and expense tracking.
Applicants must be at least 21 years of age, possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving record, and have a high school diploma. Some college is preferred and prior experience working with youth and/or be enrolled in degree program in related field is a plus. Major responsibilities include: daily decisions regarding health, safety, and discipline of scholars in residence; physical, emotional, social, spiritual and academic development of scholars in residence; schedule doctor appointments; identify program therapists and communicate with therapists; develop and maintain parent and/or guardian relationships in their child’s life; teach transitions skills; monitor academic performance and maintain regular contact with teachers; tutoring as needed; perform necessary tasks to run a home for scholars in residence (cooking, cleaning, shopping, driving); complete required documentation of scholar activities and understand all aspects of household budget and expense tracking.

There is also the possibility of periodic evening and weekend work.
Applicants must have two years experience in clerical or administrative support position and a two-year degree in business, accounting, secretarial services or related are. Experience may substitute for formal education. Must also type 50-60 words per minute, be computer proficient and have good time management, organization and communications skills.
Affiliate Development Positions
An Affiliate Development Director is normally responsible for planning and implementing a diversified and innovative fund development program under the direction of the Executive Director. The person serves as an important member of the organization’s senior leadership team. The person in this position is responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with a wide variety of constituents including board members, volunteers, foundations, corporations, individual donors, and the general public and, with the help of the Executive Director, ensuring the organization maintains long-term and short-term financial stability.
Development Directors at Boys Hope Girls Hope have the opportunity to be engaged in all aspects of running a successful development operation, from donor interaction and event planning, to grant writing and data management. In addition, they become familiar with the young people whom they are helping, and see firsthand the impact of their work.
The position requires a proven track record of fundraising success and the ability to innovate and follow through with fundraising ideas. The Development Director must communicate effectively and work with and motivate diverse groups of people. The ideal candidate will have experience in development and board relations, knowledge of the local charitable community, superb written and verbal communication skills, excellent organizational skills and a track record of fundraising success.
A bachelor’s degree, and two to five years of fund raising experience or equivalent work experience is typically required. Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills are essential to success. The position requires an ability to work both independently and in concert with senior staff. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Internet applications is required. Raiser’s Edge experience is a plus. Experience in nonprofit management and/or working with governing boards is desirable.

Boys Hope Girls Hope seeks a grant writer or development professional to deliver first rate development services to Affiliates, and to support the success of fundraising for the International Office. Reporting to the President/CEO, will work collaboratively and strategically to achieve the development goals of the International Office and Affiliates, with a focus on foundation and grant support.
BA required, preferably in English, Journalism, or communications. Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in grants management or development. Deep understanding of and prior work experience with the Boys Hope Girls mission is preferable.
We seek a professional who is a good communicator with a solid grasp of fundraising concepts and a disposition to manage competing priorities under deadline pressure with grace. Must have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and time management, with the ability to take initiative, accept responsibility, prioritize work, and work with little supervision.
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office and familiar with foundation and grant research. Knowledge of Raiser’s Edge donor management software would be beneficial.
