ACADEMIC SUCCESS CORPS MEMBERS
-
Academic Success Corps members live and work with the youth they serve. The focus of the Corps is on educational support and academic success. Members help with instructional support (tutoring or monitoring study time, collaborating with tutors, and developing and monitoring academic improvement plans), create stronger bonds with schools (attending parent/teacher meetings, open houses, communicating with teachers), promote intellectual enrichment (planning essential experiences, implementing community service activities, assessing learning styles) and act as a member of the home community.
COMMUNITY RESOURCE COORDINATORS
- Community Resource Coordinators work with Affiliate staff to connect with the community and provide scholars with access to a variety of resources. Members perform community outreach through presentations, information sessions and making connections while also supporting the local volunteer program by recruiting, screening, training and managing volunteers with a particular focus on mentor recruitment.
