BHGHNY joined the Secondary School Admissions Testing Board (SSATB) in the spring of 2011. This allows us to accept the organization’s Standard Application for admission into our program. BHGHNY SSAT Member Code is 0144.
The Standard Application Online allows students to submit online applications to schools who are members of SSAT. The process is simple:
2. Click on “Applying to Schools” and Scroll down to Standard Application Online and Click on “Apply to Schools”. Scroll down to the bottom of page and click on Search for Schools.
3. Search “Boys Hope Girls Hope of New York” by name and begin the application.
A student completes Part I of the Standard Application Online (Student Information Form) and submits it to SSAT. SSAT then posts the application information on BHGHNY’s Member Access Page.
After applying, the student and family are instructed to complete a Student Questionnaire (a series of short essay-type questions) and a Parent Statement and also to download a set of teacher recommendation forms (English, Math, School and Academic Record). The recommendation forms are distributed to current teachers, who are instructed to complete the form just once, then fax or mail it to SSAT.
As SSAT receive additional forms for a student, they are added to the online application packet within 1-2 business days. BHGHNY will log into its Member Access Page and see which materials have been received. By opening a student's record, it can view or download the most current application packet in PDF format (like the score report format).
